Alden Roy Albert Witt


Alden Roy Albert Witt, 74, of Wellersburg, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb.13, 1945, in Cumberland, Mr. Witt was the son of the late Albert M. Witt and Evelyn (Hutzell) Witt. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alverta Weimer; and a brother, Kenneth Witt.
A graduate of Meyersdale Area High School, Alden was a Blacksmith Mechanic for CSX Railroad for 29 years where he was a member of NARVE. He was a member of the Zion Community Church of Wellersburg. He was also a member of the NRA; and the Lions Club for 35 years where he was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Alden had life memberships at the Kennell's Mill Sportsmen's Club; the Piney Mountain Sportsmen's Club; the Barrelville Outdoor Club; and a charter member of the Wellersburg Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed golfing at the Piney Golf Course and belonged to the Grasshoppers.
Alden is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia "Pat" Witt; his brother, Roger Witt and wife, Donnagene; his sisters, Delores Morgan and Maxene Shelley and husband, Larry; his brothers-in-law, Jim Trimble and wife, Linda, and Robert Weimer; as well as wonderful numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, ( on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 11 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Community Church of Wellersburg, 14963 Main Street, Wellersburg, PA 15564.

Pat and families,

I am sad to read about Alden passing. Bob and I always had a good time visiting all of your relatives, especially Ken...Bob thought the world of him. He always enjoyed the times when he golfed with Alden and Ken.

Pat and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Alden's passing. I will always remember him as my childhood "boyfriend." Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am sure he will be sadly missed by all.
