BALTIMORE Alice Marie (McGee) Edgar, 87, of Baltimore, formerly of Lonaconing, passed away March 2, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Kathleen Rigney, where she had lived for the past 8 years.
Born April 2, 1930, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Jessie Catharine (Katie) McGee.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Carl Edgar; a great-grandson, Travis Alexander Charles Smith; a great-granddaughter, Cora Jean Edgar; a brother, Alexander Monroe McGee; two sisters, June Althea Parrish and Elizabeth Isobel Broadwater; two sons-in-law, Larry Rigney and George Chamberlain.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Rigney of Baltimore and Anita Lynn Chamberlain of Centerville, Va.; four sons, Craig Edgar and wife Janene of Westminster, Steve Edgar of St. Augustine, Fla., Charles Edgar and wife Andrea of New Jersey, and Donald Edgar and partner Jean of Baltimore. She had 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Catharine Whiteman of Cresaptown, Jean Beeman of Barton, and Winona Leaker of Lonaconing, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alice donated her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board. The remains will be cremated and buried beside her husband at a later date in Green's Cemetery in Garrett County.
