Alice's Story

Alice Evelyn Wilburn, 82, of Grantsville, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 2, 1934, in Jennings, she was the daughter of the late Simon Ray and Carrie Isabel (Hare) Hoover. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Sincell Wilburn; and five brothers, Albert R., George J., Howard "Clark," Harold, and baby Arthur Hoover.
Mrs. Wilburn was a homemaker and a member of the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara E. Pfeiffer and husband, Donald, Grantsville, Debra D. Lytle and husband, Paul, Addison, Pa., Nancy L. Wilburn, Falling Waters, W.Va., Pamela J. Jenkins and husband, Richard, Grantsville; one sister, Beatrice I. Folk, Grantsville; six grandchildren, Joy, Diane, Chance, Tyler, Cody and Brooke; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Kaitlyn and Madison.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Agnew officiating.
Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery.
