SPRINGFIELD, Va. Anthony Joseph Houck Jr. (93) died of natural causes April 4th at his home in Springfield.
Mr. Houck was born on Sept. 29, 1924 in Cumberland. He was a Veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in both the U.S. Army Air Force (1943-46) after graduating from LaSalle high school in Cumberland, and the U.S. Air Force (1950-51) after his graduation from St. Francis College in Loretto, Pa. At the completion of his military duty, Tony became a Logistical Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency and spent 33 years with the CIA in various domestic and overseas posts and retired in 1984. He returned to the Agency as an independent contractor for an additional eight years and retired again in 1993.
Mr. Houck was predeceased by his parents, Anthony J. Houck and Helen Nolan Houck; his sister Doris; and a son James (2003).
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Dougherty Houck and children, Debra of Springfield, Va., Stephen (Mary) of Burke, Va., Carol (Anthony) Robinette of Largo, Fla. and Michael (Irma) of Fairfax Station, Va. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rhiannon, Brenna, Darrian, Alexa, Ryan, Gabija, Viktorija, and Robert.
