Anthony F. "Tony" "Sonny" Molinari Jr., 80, of Short Gap, W.Va., passed away on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born on Jan. 6, 1937, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Anthony F. "Tony" and Mary Odessa (Culp) Molinari. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his four sisters, Virginia Farrin, Odessa Meister, Gloria Molinari, and Mary Louise Picciani.
Tony was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1955. Following high school, he served his country in the United States Navy. After he was discharged, Tony worked for several transportation companies, retiring from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company in 1999 after 33 years of service.
Tony was a fisherman and hunter. He was a founding member of the Out Cast Bass Club. He was also a member of the Allegany Bass Club, Cumberland Outdoor Club, the Cumberland Elks Club, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Tony was a WVU Mountaineer, New York Yankee baseball, Baltimore Orioles baseball, and Washington Redskins Football fan. Tony was all about family, and he enjoyed family outings and attending his grandchildren's activities.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Ann "Patty" (Horn) Molinari; three children, Michele M. Morrison and husband, Joshua, Kearneysville, Dr. Karyn L. Fryer and husband, Dr. Casey Fryer, Fairmount, and Anthony F. "Tony" Molinari III, Duncansville, Pa.; grandchildren, Aiden Fryer, Destiny Molinari, Olivia Morrison, Jackson Morrison, Piper Fryer, and Lillian "Ella" Molinari; brother-in-law, James R. Horn and wife, Ellen, Fort Ashby; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy., SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
