Betty Lou Deshong, 78, of Oldtown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on Dec. 21, 1939, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Catherine E. (Martz) Zembower. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wayne Deshong in October of 2017, and her brothers Joe, Jake and Sam.
Betty was employed for many years in Winchester, Va., at Federal Motor Company. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Cathy Weldon and husband, Don, William Walker and wife, Dawn, Linda Earnest and husband, Tommy; step-sons, Shawn Deshong and wife, Beth, Jerry Deshong, and Jason Deshong; grandchildren, Brandon, Ashton, Keegan, Larry, Jeffrey, Steven, Colton, Samantha, Dylan, Savana, Bryan, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Shyann, Kaylee, Charlotte and Austin; personal friend, Rita Glaze and husband, Brian.
As per Betty's request, she will be cremated, and there will be no services.
