KEYSER, W.Va. Betty J. Kimble Heavener, 90, of Horseshoe Road, Keyser, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at her residence.
Born on June 7, 1927 at Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Madge L. (Cunningham) Clair. Twice married, she was preceded in death by both husbands, Estyl B. Kimble and William Heavener; a son-in-law, Bennie Powell; two infant granddaughters and three sisters, Charlene Alt, Alane Liller and Naomi L. Crine.
Mrs. Kimble was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. Foremost, she was dedicated to the Lord with all of her heart and soul and secondly, loved her family, the babies and the children. She was a member of the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, the Women's Missionary Fellowship of the church and the Reese's Mill CEOS (Homemakers). A powerful prayer warrior, she devoted all of her strength and energy to whatever task was at hand, stopping only when the job was complete. She considered her life on the farm as one of those duties and fulfilled it with love and dedication. She also was an avid reader and loved her times vacationing at the ocean.
Surviving are her children, Alston Dale Kimble and wife Judy, Diana Mielecki and husband Robert, Brent Kimble and wife Cathy, Brenda Kesner and husband Daniel and Carol Powell, all of Keyser; Bill Heavener's children and their families as her stepfamily; two brothers, James R. Clair of Cleveland, Ohio, and Wayne B. Clair of Alliance, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Roberts and husband Howard of Doylestown, Ohio, and Madge L. Petrekovich of Atwater, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kimble requested her body to be donated to the W.V.U. School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church on Saturday, Dec.16, 2017, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Daryl M. Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, 11585 Knobley Road Keyser, WV 26726 or to Potomac Valley Hospice, 100 Pin Oak Lane Keyser, WV 26726.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, assisted the family with the arrangements.
