CUMBERLAND - Betty Lou (Lewis) Kimmell, 90, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born May 14, 1927, in Frostburg, Mrs. Kimmell was the daughter of the late Ellsworth Lewis and Sarah Lillian (Wade) Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Kimmell; and a brother, Donald Lewis.
Betty was a graduate of Allegany High School Class of 1945 and retired from Curly Q Beauty Shop, LaVale. She was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church, the McKinley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 56 and also the Pythian Sisters.
Betty is survived by her son, Gary Kimmell and wife Irene, Cumberland; a daughter, Krista Eaton and husband Jeff, Rawlings; her sisters, Helen Williams, Frostburg, and Barbara Whitacre and husband, Larry, Bedford, Pa.; her grandchildren, Sarah Eaton and friend Justin Hymes, Rawlings, and Emily Eaton and fiancé, Zach Mathews, LaVale, and Rhonda Downton and fiancé, William Raynor, Cresaptown; her sisters-in-law, Helen Lewis, Boonesboro, and Rosalee McIntyre, Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, ( on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Pythian Sisters will conduct a service at 7 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Hal Atkins and Reverend Harold McClay, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Frostburg Village for all the loving and caring support given to Betty.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Ali Ghan Shrine Club, Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21501-1416.
