Brother Kevin's Story
Brother Kevin Strong, F.S.C., a dedicated Christian Brother for 69 years, the former Richard Leo Strong, born in Cumberland, on March 8, 1931, passed away peacefully at age 86 on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at De LaSalle Hall, the Brothers' nursing facility in Lincroft, N.J., after several days in hospice care.
He was the son of the late Kevin Felix and Minnie Dell (Northcraft) Strong.
Among his many ministry assignments in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pa., Canton, Ohio, and Miami, Fla., Brother Kevin served as president of Calvert Hall College High School, Baltimore, from 1990-2000 and president of Cardinal Gibbons High School, Baltimore, from 2004-2008.
Mass of Christian burial was held at Calvert Hall on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, with burial in the Brothers' cemetery, Ammendale, Md., on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.
