Carol Adele Collins, 79, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at her home.
Born Nov. 7, 1937, in Frostburg, Mrs. Collins was the daughter of the late Durwood George Deffenbaugh and Celeste (Blank) Deffenbaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Collins, April 19, 2006; two sisters, Geraldine Brailler and Lois Shoemaker; and two brothers, Wayne and Durwood Deffenbaugh.
Carol was employed at Beiderlack Corporation. She was a member of Bowman's Addition Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ritchie-Yutzy and husband, Harold, Pocahontas, Pa.; her sons, Chester L. Collins Jr. and wife, Lisa; Stephen M. Collins; and Scott D. Collins, all of Cumberland; and her brother, Robert Deffenbaugh and wife, Peg, Pinnacle, W.Va. Carol is also survived by her grandchildren, Kerri and Bobby Ritchie, and Amy, Chris, Destinee, and Charity Collins; and her great-grandchildren, Nick, Karley, Jace, Kylan, Kelson, and Kayne.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug.10, 2017, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Fred Iser officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
