Carrie Elizabeth Shewbridge, 87, of Ormand St., Frostburg, formerly of Nikep, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Cumberland Healthcare Center.
Born Feb. 22, 1930, in Pekin, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie (Kifer) Beeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip Shewbridge, and two sisters, Ruth Foley and Barbara Wilson.
Mrs. Shewbridge was a homemaker and retired from Bennett & Associates Transfer, having been a secretary.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a son, Harry Andrew Shewbridge and wife, Rose, of Cumberland; a daughter, Victoria Glass and companion, Cecil Rounds, of Frostburg; and grandchildren, Jesse Glass (Heather), Jaimee Glass (Charlie), Katrina Shewbridge (Jason), Garrett Shewbridge, Antonio, Jeremiah, David, Darlene and Nakita. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Bailey and Gavin Glass; nieces and nephews, Beverly and Chris Wilson, Tim Saneman; and a brother-in-law, Emory Wilson.
Friends and family will be received at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services to immediately follow the visitation on Wednesday at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Butch Wright officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.
