FLINTSTONE Catherine Louise Vance, 76, of Flintstone, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1940, in Cumberland, Mrs. Vance was the daughter of the late Norman Gellner and Catherine (Goldsworthy) Gellner. She was also preceded in death by three children, Debra Ann Vance, Timothy Adam Vance, and Catherine Vance; and three brothers, Fred, Jim, and Tom Gellner.
A homemaker, Catherine loved her family. She was a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church. For many years, Cathy enjoyed owning and working at her store, Cathy's Country Crafts and Quilts. Cathy was an avid animal lover and a longtime supporter of the ASPCA.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Daniel Galen Vance; and her sons, Daniel M. Vance, Centerville, Va., and Stephen F. Vance and his girlfriend, Jamie L. Naill, LaVale. She also leaves behind her sister, Ruth Ann Olivia, Westminster; her grandchildren, Brandon Vance and wife, Sara E. Vance, Melanie Vance, Staci Vance, Rachel Vance, Grace Vance, and Trevor Ritchie; and a great grandson, Rylan Vance.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of the family.
