Charles G. "Chuck" Bamburg Sr., 79, of Campti, La., formerly of Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at his home in Campti.
Born on Sept. 27, 1938, in Red River Parish, La., he was the son of the late Tuthrie Winston and Josie Marianne (Wood) Bamburg. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Burt Arden Bamburg, and a sister, Mary Sue Tipton.
Mr. Bamburg served in the U.S. Military at Andrews Air Force Base and worked at Westvaco Luke Mill for 39 years until he retired. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Keyser for several years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing most of his life.
Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Evelyn Bamburg; a daughter, Tanya L. (Bamburg) Brooks and husband, Thomas of Peach Bottom, Pa.; a son, Charles G. "Chuck" Bamburg Jr. and wife, Marianna of Keyser; three grandchildren, Nicole L. McMillian of Cochranville, Pa., Dana M. Bamburg and Sara E. Bamburg, both of Keyser; and a great-grandson, Cody B. McMillian of Cochranville. Also surviving is a brother, Leslie V. Bamburg of Coushatta, La.; four stepchildren, Mark Kesner, Becky Bailey, Nicky Portillo and Candy Robinette, all of Keyser; and 12 step-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
