Charlotte's Story

NEW CREEK, W.Va. Charlotte K. Simmons, 63, of Penneroil Road, New Creek, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 28, 1953, at Elk Garden, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo Ralph and Virginia Alberta (Morris) Evans. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Marshall Simmons on April 7, 2000.
Surviving is her companion, Rodney Sites of New Creek; her children, Gary Evans and wife, Angela of New Creek and Jennifer Hickey and husband, Michael of Keyser; five grandchildren, Amanada Sweitzer, Joshua Evans, Brianna Evans, Justin Wayne Paugh and Brittany Kesner and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Amberlea Sweitzer and Hunter Paugh. Also surviving are three brothers, Eugene Evans of Virginia, Danny Evans and wife, Carol of Aurora, Colo., and Robert Evans and wife, Linda of Keyser; and three sisters, Peggy Carr and husband, Richard of Scherr, Sandy Brown and husband, Forrest of Laureldale, and Robin Brass and husband, Andy of Hanging Rock.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Donna Leatherman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
