Constance Donna "Connie" (Ruud) Kehrwald, 82, of Frostburg, passed away on April 29, 2017, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home following a long battle with cancer.
Born on June 30, 1934, in Sioux Falls, S.D., she was the daughter of the late Hazel Amelia (Thompson) Ruud and (div.) Chester Norman Ruud.
A graduate of Washington High School in Sioux Falls, Connie was a homemaker, a voracious reader, a film buff, and a devout Minnesota Twins baseball fan. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
Connie traveled extensively with family and lived throughout the United States, including Golden, Colo., Grand Island, Neb., Chicago, Ill., Las Cruces, N.M., Los Angeles, Calif., and Rochester, Minn. No matter where she called home, Connie found joy in the stacks of public libraries and value in her longterm friendships with relatives and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Kehrwald; her sons, Craig Kehrwald and wife, Michelle, of El Paso, Texas, and Kevin Kehrwald and wife, Kristin, of Frostburg. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughters, Kyle Kehrwald of Dallas, Texas, and Ella Valentine of Frostburg. Connie is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Fran Ruud, of Ocala, Fla.; her nieces and nephews, Randy Ruud, Richard Ruud, Nicole Green, Andrea Kehrwald Kellogg, and Karlie Kehrwald-Lindgren.
Connie was a woman of strong faith. At her request, arrangements will be handled by Durst Funeral Home and no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of the Frostburg Community Library, Attn: Connie Wilson, 65 East Main Street, Frostburg, MD 21532.
