Dalton "Sonny" Blaine Garlock, 71, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at his daughter's home in Chesapeake Beach.
Born Sept. 3, 1947, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Robert Simon Garlock and Anna Belle (Kiser) Burkett.
Sonny retired from Teamsters Union, driving with Local 639, Manassas, Va. Sonny and his brother, James Garlock Sr., built two beautiful log cabin homes in the mountains of Fort Ashby. Often the family joined together for gatherings, consisting of shooting guns and bows, fishing and hunting, riding four-wheelers, and enjoying plenty of delicious cook outs. Living the good ole country life.
Sonny is survived by brothers, James Garlock, Fort Ashby, and Edward Garlock, Cumberland; sisters, Rosalie Haines, Frostburg, and Linda K. Bear, Aberdeen; son, Anthony Garlock, Silver Spring; daughters, Carrie Antonetti, Chesapeake Beach, and Courtney Garlock, Fredericksburg, Va.; his four lovely grandchildren, Karem Walters, Joseph Walters, Landen Anderson and Evelyn Lucero; and one beautiful great-granddaughter, Ava Mae Cain.
For family and friends, a celebration of Sonny's life will be held at Sand Springs Steakhouse, 188 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Error on my part, my father was born in 1947 but I can hear Dad now " it's 47 Carrie where the heck you get 54" gotta love that man for always calling you out.. lol 😂

Watching him swan dive off the pier pole and scramble back onto the pier because how cold the water was. How silly he always was when we all would be up visiting
