DANVILLE Daniel Earl Brown, 75, of Danville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Moran Manor nursing home after a short battle with cancer.
Daniel was born on March 1, 1942, in Westernport, to Paul Brown and June Clark Diehl. He is preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Mary "Peg" Brown.
Daniel attended Bruce High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Local 616 Laborers' Union. As a younger man, Daniel, enjoyed taekwondo martial arts, black powder competitions, powwows, and hunting squirrels. Throughout his life he loved drawing, hiking in nature, listening to old time bluegrass music, and wood carving.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the love of his life, Sharon (Junkins) Brown; a son, Daniel Scott Brown, wife, Katherine, of Keyser, W.Va.; a daughter, Dana Sue Brown, of Cumberland; and four step-granddaughters, Rebecca, Clarissa, Kristina, and Jennifer Mason. He is also survived by two sisters, Beverly Diehl, Cumberland, and Aleita Barton, Cumberland, as well as several nieces and nephews, and one special brother-in-law, Danny Jones.
Friends and family may call at the Keyser Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Mineral St. Keyser, on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a Remembrance of Daniel Brown to be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tom Forbes officiating.
