MEYERSDALE, Pa. Darleen W. Harris, 91, formerly of LaVale, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Rest Assured Residential Living Center, Meyersdale.
Darleen was born April 1, 1926, to Willie B. and Virgie Warnick, Grantsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Harris and her granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Harris.
Darleen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Harris Raupach and husband Earl Raupach and her son, Bradley, as well grandsons James, Michael and Andrew Martin, and Zachery Harris. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Ava, Maddie,Adrian, Zephyr and Indigo. Darleen has six surviving siblings and their spouses, Mahlon and Dot Warnick, Arch and Jan Warnick, Wilda and Bill Englehart, Jack and Rosalie Warnick, Sheila and Fred McKenzie, Larry and Nancy Warnick and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death, Robert and Bright Warnick and Doris Hartman.
Darleen was a 1947 graduate of Frostburg State Teachers College. She retired from teaching in 1989, having taught first grade at Corriganville and then Cash Valley Schools. She was also a member of LaVale United Methodist Church. She and her husband loved to travel, having been to all fifty states and numerous European countries.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Her ashes will be interred at Maryland State Veterans Cementary, Rocky Gap, along side her husband, Eugene.

Her daughter and son would like to especially thank Rest Assured Residential Living Center and Via Quest for the loving care and respect their mom received while a resident there.
