David William Bittinger, 62, of Rawlings passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 9, 1955, in Cumberland, Mr. Bittinger was the son of the late Luther Adam Bittinger and Bessie Mae (Stafford) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Ramsey, and an infant brother.
A graduate of Fort Ashby High School, David was formerly employed at Sacred Heart Hospital and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1024. He retired from the Biederlack Corporation of America.
David is survived by his wife, Ruby Lucille (Haines) Bittinger; his children, Jennifer Marie Russell and husband, Anthony, David W. Bittinger-Rockwell, and Roseanna Lee Bittinger. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jamie Crossland and wife, Brenda, Keith Crossland, Jesse Crossland and wife, Tammy, and Kristy Weimer. David also leaves behind his brothers, Luther A. Bittinger and wife, Janie, Edward E. Bittinger Sr. and wife, Faith, and Michael T. Bittinger and wife, Debbie; his sisters, Helen M. Neat and Dottie V. Ruby and husband, Allen, Sr.; son-in-law, Tom Ramsey; 11 grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com), on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Ketterman officiating.
