Deloris's Story

Deloris Mary Gray, 86, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Cumberland Healthcare Center.
Born April 3, 1931, St. Mary's County, Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late James Wood and Julia (Birch) Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gray; a grandson, Joshua Paul Corbin; son-in-law, Terry Middleton; as well as two sisters and two brothers.
Mary was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed dancing, shopping, walking, and attending Friday After Five. She was also an avid Elvis Presley fan. Mary sang at the Grand Ole Opry with Jimmy Dean and Porter Wagoner when she was 16. Later she sang with Merle Haggard and Roy Clark.
Mary is survived by her six daughters, Emma McGraw, Cumberland, Sharran Lewis, Cumberland, Rosemarie Corbin and husband, Lloyd, Romney, W.Va., Cathy Middleton, Cumberland, Nancy Gray and husband, Alan, Cumberland, Mary May Porter and husband, Mark, Mount Savage; as well as 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robin Kirchner officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
