Donna Marie Spangler Turner went to be with her God on Feb. 5, 2018.
She was born April 14, 1935, in Huntingdon, Pa.
For those that knew her, one thing was clear: She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother better than life itself. Donna did, however, leave some time for her beloved WVU Mountaineers and Baltimore Orioles.
Donna graduated from Romney High School and then Potomac State College. After raising her children, she went to work helping people throughout her life in Romney working with Dr. RR Brown for over 20 years. Donna retired from The KMK Agency in Cumberland.
Donna is survived by a brother, Lewis Spangler, Winchester, Va.; three children, Sabrina Turner Wright, Huntsville, Ala.; Kenneth Turner II and his wife Denise, Denton, Md., and Greg Turner, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Kyle Turner and wife Kari, Orlando, Fla.; Kara Turner, Washington, D.C.; Payne Turner, Cumberland; and Seth Turner, Cumberland; one great-grandson, Killian Turner, Orlando; and one niece, Kathy Spangler, Richmond, Va.
Donna's fight with cancer was nothing short of herculean. Donna was practical in life and gave to others before herself.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to: WVU Cancer Institute Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 9300, Morgantown, WV 26506-9300. Checks to the order of the Comfort Fund, honor Donna Turner in the memo line, or www.wvucancer.org/give.
A family and friends memorial will be held April 14 in Cumberland.
