Doris June Geatz, 90, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 27, 1927, in Cumberland, Mrs. Geatz was the daughter of the late Carl Frederick Smith and Anna Mae (Porter) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Geatz Sr., May 5, 2003; and a sister, Jeannette Wilson. Doris was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1945, Doris retired from AT&T.
She is survived by her son, Thomas A. Geatz Jr., and wife, Candy, Mack, Colo.; and her daughters, Rhonda J. Simpson and husband, Ron, and Kelly L. Mangus and husband, Brian, all of Cumberland. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Candy Lawrence and husband, John, Corey Simpson, Jen Mellott and husband, Gary, all of Cumberland, Thomas A. Geatz III, Cumberland, Angie Wilner, Fort Worth, Texas, Missy Geatz, Fruita, Colo., Ian Mangus, and Ally Mangus, both of Cumberland; as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by a niece, Linda Stouffer and husband, Bob, Missoula, Mont.; and her nephew, Jim Wilson and wife, Sue, Perry Hall, Md.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com), on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Yost officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
