Edith Elaine Damm, 80, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at her home.
Born Jan. 20, 1937, in West Point, N.Y., Mrs. Damm was the daughter of the late Harry James and Hilda Martha Day. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Damm; two sons, William Thomas Damm III and Richard James Clark Damm. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A homemaker, Edith was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked as a caregiver for New Hope Assistant Living Center. She was a member of Cumberland Bible Church.
Edith is survived by her son, William T. Damm IV, Cumberland; and her daughters, Irene L. Chisholm and husband, Dennis, Cumberland, Stacey L. Johns and husband, David, Cresaptown, Robin Wotring and husband, Jeff, and Regina A.M. Milburn and husband, Christopher, all of Cumberland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cody Damm, Candi L. Huff, Lorelei N. Huff and fiancé, Christopher Heidel, Rebecca L. Johns, David W. Johns, Derek M. Johns, Nicole R. Fetters and husband, Jeremy, Faith M. Wotring, Jacob H. Wotring, Christal E. Milburn, and Dallas K. Milburn. Edith is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Noah Davis, Landon Davis, Julie Fetters, Rylee Fetters, and Liam Davis; a special friend, Brittny May; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St. (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com), on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Donald Harrelson officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
