Edna Gail Weisenmiller

Edna Gail Weisenmiller, 92, of Ridgeley, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Piney Valley Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2011.
Edna was born in Elkins, on Dec. 30, 1925, to the late Jacob and Leslie (Wolfe) Maxson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence "Bud" Maxson; three sisters, Genevieve Poling, Wilda Boor Bopp, and Colene Valentine; and, her former husband,Francis Weisenmiller. She was the last surviving relative of her immediate family.
Edna was a 1944 graduate of Ridgeley High School.
Prior to her retirement in 1988, Edna was employed in the business office at Memorial Hospital for more than 25 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley, where she had been active in United Methodist Women and other church activities.
Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a loyal friend to many. She is survived by her son, Richard Weisenmiller and wife, Pamela; her daughter, Leslie Fleming and husband, Michael; four grandchildren, Alisa Weisenmiller Cullen and husband Kevin, Aaron Weisenmiller, Emily Fleming Hayes and husband Seth, and Brad Fleming; five great-grandchildren, Maddie and Aubrey Cullen, Maria and Grant Hayes, and Wyatt Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 10 AM until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon, with the Reverend Richard Jewell, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
