Eleanora Kelson Cromwell, 60, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born June 22, 1957, in Cumberland, Mrs. Cromwell was the daughter of the late Herbert Marcellus Rhodes and Alice E. (Williams) Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Cromwell Sr.; a stepson, Kenny Cromwell; a son-in-law, Jordan Swisher; a sister, Saundra Jane York; three brothers-in-law, Jesse York II, James Hamilton, and John Owes; and a sister-in-law, Gayle Williams.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School and Vo Tech, Eleanora was formerly employed at Blind Industries as a seamstress and was the family babysitter. She was a member of the Friendship Haven Church and an avid Bingo player.
Eleanora is survived by her son, Norman Cromwell Jr., and companion, Lucinda Blizzard; her daughter, Lyaundra Cromwell, all of Cumberland; and her adopted daughter, Shan'Draya Rutherford and husband, Tray, of Arizona. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Barbara Owes, Lydia Meade, Francine Ross, Francis Williams, Richard Williams, Alberta Hamilton, Bertha Wilson and husband, Bruce; and her uncle, Ricky Williams. Eleanora is also survived by her grandchildren, Nataisha, Shianna, and Haleigh Cromwell, Trayden Boggs, Makhi Cromwell, Sharonda Williams, Darrell, and Sierra Cromwell; and her godchildren, Amy Shook, Kevin Page Jr., LaShawn Miller, and Daniel Wilson. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews she helped raise as well as her great-nieces and nephews and special friends, Jackie Boyer, Angelina Willis, Michelle Cage, Charlie Miller, Nissa Amen, and her special Bingo partner, Franchesca Dumas.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Floyd Bender officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
