Eva Blanche Bearinger, 74, of Ridgeley, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born February 17, 1943, in Cumberland, Mrs. Bearinger was the daughter of the late Thomas Daniel Burley and Edith Flossie (Sarver) Burley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Freda Shoap, Teresa Burley, and Francis Burley; and a half brother, William Sirbaugh.
Eva was a former employee of IGA Market, Keyser, and Shonneman's Sewing. She was a member of New Day Baptist Church, Fort Ashby, where she taught Sunday School. She and her husband founded this church, which began in their home in the 1980s. Eva enjoyed sewing, gardening, animals, and taking care of others.
Eva is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Ralph Bearinger Jr.; her daughter, Shelly Rae Minnigh and husband, Michael, Short Gap; and her grandson, the absolute light of her life, Ryan Minnigh, Morgantown. She also leaves behind her brothers, Thomas Sarver, Indianapolis, Ind., and Daniel T. Burley and special friend, Judy Price, Cumberland; her sister-in-law, Kay Unangst, Dillsburg, Pa.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Gary Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made in Eva's name to the New Day Baptist Church, P.O. Box 628, Fort Ashby, W.Va. 26719-0628, or the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department, 128 Knobley Road, Ridgeley, W.Va. 26753.
