Fae Alta's Story
Fae Alta Haslacker, 93, of Maysville, W.Va., died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at her home.
Mrs. Haslacker was born on Feb. 2, 1924, in Maysville, and was a daughter of the late I. Ray Judy and Ila T. (Park) Judy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Haslacker on March 4, 2016, and two sons, Kerlyn Lawrence Haslacker and Doron Eugene Haslacker.
Mrs. Haslacker graduated from Petersburg High School in 1944. She was a homemaker and a longtime 4-H leader and All Star member. She was a member of the Homemakers Farm Women's Club. She was a supervisor at the first sewing factory in Petersburg. She also was a member of Mt Hebron United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Haslacker is survived by one son, Arlyn K. (Becky) Haslacker of Petersburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Stefanie L. (Michael) Askins of Mt. Morris, Pa., Kimberly K. Haslacker of Bridgeport, W.Va., Garrick K. (Whitney A.) Haslacker of Maysville, Aleshia R. ( Austin R.) Lilly of Hinton, W.Va., and Vanessa L (David P.) Harper of Seneca Rocks, W.Va.; nine great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Connie Haslacker Murlin of New Creek, W.Va., and Pearl (Rinker) Haslacker of Maysville; several nieces and nephews; and her fury companion, Charlie Brown.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, W.Va.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mary E. "Beth" Jacobson and the Rev. Ann W. Harrison officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lahmansville Cemetery.
