Garry Eugene Penrod, 68, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Aug. 30, 1949, in Cumberland, Mr. Penrod was the son of Frances Elizabeth (King) Penrod, Cumberland, and the late Paul Eugene Penrod.
A graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, class of 1967, Garry was a United States Army veteran and retired from the City of Cumberland where he was the flood control operator. He was a life-member of the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club. Garry spent his time hunting and fishing.
Garry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Penny Penrod; and his sons, Paul Penrod and wife, Angela, and Daniel Penrod, all of Cumberland. He also leaves behind his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Maddison and Kaylee Penrod; and well as numerous brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a service at 6 p.m. with the Reverend Wayne Turner officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
