C. Glavis Land "Pie" Sisler, 80, of Friendsville, died Wednesday, Nov., 1, 2017, at his residence.
Born Jun., 6, 1937, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Jasper and Violet (Uphold) Sisler. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Luanna (Fike) Toston and Stella (Bowser) Sisler; five brothers, Dawson, Garrett, Doy, Hillis and Hobart; two sisters, Velva Blamble and Glenna Bracey.
Glavis was a concerned and loving father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and took great joy in hunting with his grandsons. "Pie" loved being in the woods and co-founded the timber Co., SC&L and was a member of the Church of God.
He is survived by four sons; Jerry (Sharon) Sisler, Gordon (Monica) Sisler, of Friendsville, Todd (companion, Teresa Bittinger) Sisler, McHenry, Lynn (Cecelia) Sisler, Oakland, three daughters; Lois (James) Tallentire, Markleysburg, Pa., Brenda (Richard) Reese, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Lori (companion, David Fike) Sisler, Hazelton, W.Va., one step-daughter Tina (Ryan) Wetor, Tampa, Fla., two brothers; Otis Sisler, and Leon Sisler, both of Friendsville; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
