Gloria E. Kesner, 89, of Georgia Avenue, Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born on May 17, 1928, at Kitzmiller, she was a daughter of the late Andrew C. and Hazel O. (Sharpless) Wilson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Liller Kesner on March 8, 1987.
Mrs. Kesner was a 1946 graduate of the former Kitzmiller High School. She and her late husband owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Romney for several years. She was a member of the Rees Chapel United Methodist Church, New Creek, and was an avid bowler and enjoyed crossword puzzles and caring for her flowers. The greatest joy in her later years has been her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially in crocheting baby blankets for them.
Surviving are her children, Fred Lynn Kesner and wife, Barbara, of Keyser, Karen S. Evans and husband, Dennis, of Lorton, Va., Nancy L. Pritts and husband, Robert, of Keyser, and Craig Kesner and fiancee, Laura Satterfield, of Frederick; seven grandchildren, Leah Lechliter, Andrew Kesner, Carrie Dana-Evans, Amanda Hauenstein, Shawn Pritts, Nathan Pritts and Adam Pritts; and 12 great-grandchildren, Owen, Wyatt and Evan Lechliter, Harrison and Benjamin Kesner, Brooks Dana-Evans, Rylee and James Hauenstein, Carter Pritts, Jaedyn Kaiser, Hannah Pritts, Aaric Pritts and three "on the way."
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Stephon Reed officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
