Harland's Story

Harland Wayne Miller, 52, of Hyndman, Pa., was received into Heaven by his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 9, 2018.
Harland was born on September 22, 1965, in Meyersdale, Pa. He was the son of Miriam E. Miller and the late Emanuel J. Miller.
In addition to his mother, Harland is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Stephanie A. (Jenkins) Miller, and his adoring daughter, Gabrielle Miller (Hyndman); brothers, Darrell Miller and wife Kristina (Perkasie, Pa.) and James Miller (Hyndman); nephews, Joshua, Matthew, and Aaron Miller (Perkasie); brother-in-law, Steve Jenkins and wife Christine (LaVale); and nieces and nephews, Jessica Pilcher, Stephen Jenkins, Elizabeth Jenkins, Michael Jenkins.
Harland was a registered nurse who worked in the emergency room for many years. Most recently, he had established his own practice as a legal nurse consultant.
A faithful minister of the gospel, Harland was ordained under LeSea Global Ministries, South Bend, Ind. He served as pastor of LaVale Christian Center for the last 23 years. Harland also had a passion for overseas missions and has traveled as far as Cambodia, Ghana, Mozambique, South Africa, Guatemala, Haiti, and Nigeria. He had a deep love of research and Bible study, which led him to write a book called "Make Yourself Ready," about the end times and the return of Christ.
Harland's generosity, openness, and unique sense of humor attracted all who met him. His family was his priority, and he was completely devoted to his wife and daughter.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, with Pastor David Lease officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Harland's name to the Western Maryland Food Bank, P.O. Box 243, Cumberland, MD 21502.
