Helen Irene (Iman) Adams, 88, of Springfield, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital.
Born on Nov. 5, 1929, in Push Root Hollow, Burlington, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Tabitha J. Delawder Iman.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Adams, in 1984; three brothers, Willard, Virgil, and Harold; four sisters, Betty Caldwell, Arbutus Kern, Veda Martin and Mildred Iman; and a stepson, C. James Adams. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Surviving is a son, John M. Adams of Springfield; three daughters, Brenda K. Belt, Capon Bridge, Beth Herriott, Romney, and Carla Adams, Berkley Springs; one grandson, Andrew T. Belt, Memphis, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren, Michael Adams and Michelle Hermann, both of Michigan; and six stepgrandchildren.
She worked at Grace's Grocery for 24 years and was postmaster at Springfield for six years. She retired from the United States Postal Service with 40 years, 7 months, service in 1989. She traveled the United States and visited 40 states along with Canada and Mexico. She lived in Montana for seven years. She was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Springfield United Methoidst Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Springfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenneth Caplinger officiating. Friends will be received on hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Springfield Hill Cemetery.
All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Romney, W.Va.
