MOUNT SAVAGE - Helen Marie Porter, 84, of Mount Savage, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at her home.
Born April 8, 1933, in Cumberland, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late Elsie Marie McCray.
A graduate of Allegany High School, Helen was a former employee of G.C. Murphy Company, A&P Grocery, and retired from Superfresh. She was a member of the Barrelville Presbyterian Church. Helen enjoyed collecting cookbooks and was an avid QVC shopper.
Helen is survived by her husband of 35 years, George Porter; her sister, Judy Porter and husband, Fred; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Barrelville Presbyterian Church, 13912 Mount Savage Road, Mount Savage, MD 21545.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Home Care, Home Hospice, Dr. Gupta and his staff, and her caregivers, Kristi, Brittany, and Doug, for being so wonderful with Helen during her illness.
