RIDGELEY, W.Va. Herbert Harvey Hill, 77, of Ridgeley, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born on April 5, 1940, at Cumberland, he was a son of the late William Guy and Edna (Paxton) Hill. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise F. Hill and 14 siblings; Rosalie, Robert, Howard, Benny, John, Larry, Cora, Margaret, Palmer, Loretta, Lula, Frances, James and Tom.
Mr. Hill was retired from Plasters and Cement Masons, Local 109. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 200, L.O.O.M. Lodge 271 and Aerie 2883, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving is a special friend, Marguerite Crawford; his children, Gary Lee Hill of Missouri, Marlene Sue Comer of Short Gap, and Larry Ray Hill of Washington; four grandchildren, David Hill, Daniel Hill, Shaunda Michaels and Richard Lowery and four great-grandchildren, Emily Michaels, Erika Michaels, Georgia Hill and Hannah Hill. Also surviving are his siblings, Mary Garrison of Harrisburg, Pa., Betty Johnson of Fairhope, Alabama, Kenneth Hill of Cumberland, Ida Donahoe of Frederick, and Thelma Huffman of Cumberland.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Biser Cemetery, Knobley Road, Keyser.
