FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Herman Houdershell, 72, of Fort Ashby, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Born Sept. 4, 1945, in Cumberland, Mr. Houdershell was the son of the late James R. Houdershell and Edith M. (Bishop) Houdershell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (White) Houdershell; a stepson, Ronnie Harper; his sister, Patty Siefers; and a brother, Gary Houdershell.
Herman was a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Herman is survived by his sons, Travis Houdershell, Cumberland, and Greg Harper and wife, Brandi, Cresaptown; and his stepchildren, Mike Harper, Cresaptown, and Donna Lindner, Cumberland. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lucy Houdershell, and Nancy George and husband, Charlie; his brother, James Houdershell, all of Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) with the Reverend Wayne Turner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
