Irene Carder, 88, of Laurel, passed away in the afternoon of Dec. 21, 2017. She was born in Lens, France in 1929 to Edward Schwonek and Josephine Kubiki. She worked as a bank teller and eventually an assistant manager at Citizen's National Bank, currently PNC, from 1971-1981. Irene enjoyed being a wife, a mother, and gardening.
Irene is survived by her sons, Stanton and Mark Carder. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Theresa Ann Brown (Wesley Brown); and her great-granddaughter, Bridget Nicole Brown. She also has two nieces and one nephew in Germany, Irene Schwonek, Jacqueline Seidl and Pierre Schwonek.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Edward Carder.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
