KEYSER, W.Va. Jackie Ann Flippin Mayle, 80, a resident of Piney Valley Nursing Home, formerly of Knobley Road, Keyser, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017.
Born on Aug. 15, 1937 at Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Roy Sanford and Mattie May (Whorton) Fletcher. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Samuel Melton Flippin II and Gilbert Lee Mayle; a grandson who was very close to her heart, Robert "Bobby" Yutzy Jr.; four brothers, Roy, Jerry, Larry and Carl Fletcher and two sisters, Frances Fletcher and Flora Moyer.
Mrs. Mayle was retired from the Flushing Shirt Factory in Grantsville, after 27 years of service and also provided private in home care for many local ladies for many years. Jackie was a music lover, especially bluegrass and singing and looked forward to Sunday afternoons at the nursing home for the string band performances, where she would just sing her heart out. She also loved cooking.
Surviving are her children, Pamela Riley of Keyser, Winnie Weber and friend, Chris Fleek of Keyser, Marilyn Yutzy and husband, Bob of Zihlman, and Samuel "Trey" Flippin III of Short Gap; one brother, Paul Fletcher and wife, Lilly of Flintstone; three sisters, Judy Carey and husband, Butch of Orrstown, Pa., Patsy Robinson of Artemas, Pa., and Jean McCusker of Hancock; six grandchildren, Shanea Stewart and husband, Jonathan, James Hanlin III, Raquell Hanlin and Samantha Bosley and husband, Cevin all of Keyser, Trent Flippin of Morgantown, and Stephanie Yutzy of Frostburg. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, J.P. and Taylor Stewart, Devin Matthews, Kailey and Madison Yutzy, L.J. and Jaelyn Hanlin and one "on the way."
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lauren Godwin, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Chris Guynn and staff of Valley Medical Transport for their courteous, professional service, her hairdressers, Darlene Harman and Becky Amtower and to countless others who have touched her life.
