Jeanne's Story

LAVALE - Jeanne Marie (Dauphin) Pfeiffer, 93, of LaVale, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.
Born April 4, 1924, in Youngstown, N.Y., Mrs. Pfeiffer was the daughter of the late Carl Fred Dauphin and Jessie Matilda (Yungblut) Dauphin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Pfeiffer; a son, John Keith Pfeiffer; a brother, Carl A. Dauphin, KIA in World War II; and two sisters, Mildred V. Haenftling and Lois F. Posavac.
Jeanne was a Registered Nurse formerly employed at Memorial Hospital and several nursing homes. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Jeanne taught the "Sitters" Class at Allegany College of Maryland for many years. She enjoyed playing Bridge with "The Group."
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Marie Smith, Cumberland; her son, Stephen Carl Pfeiffer and wife, Kim, Houston, Texas; her sisters, Dorothy Reiter, Cumberland, June Kolb and husband, Bill, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Carol Stickley, LaVale; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl "Cheri" Ann Pfeiffer, Wilmington, N.C. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, John K. Pfeiffer Jr., Allen Pfeiffer and wife, Natasha, Adam Pfeiffer and wife, Stephanie, Shannon LaCombe, Thomas LaCombe and wife, Sarah, Nick LaCombe, Greg Smith and Aaron Smith; as well as 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, 326 North Centre St., Cumberland, on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Eric Ruble officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 326 North Centre St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful, caring, and professional staff at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.
