Joan N. Tucker, 86, of Carpendale, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 29, 1931, in Ridgeley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harold B. and Edna J. (Eaton) Magruder.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale B. Tucker; granddaughter, Kelly (Nichols) Bailey; two brothers, Richard Magruder and Harold Magruder Jr.; and her sister, Yvonne (Magruder) Simpson.
Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Nichols and husband, Bill, who was like a son to her; grandson, Scott Nichols and wife, Kris; great-grandchildren, Skylar Martin, Brady T. Nichols, and Emily Bailey; brother, Wayne Magruder; and numerous family members.
Joan worked in the Avon office on Baltimore Street and was a representative for over 40 years. She was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, loved going to bingo, and cooking and baking for her family. She adored her family and gave endless love and support to them. She also loved all the holidays, but especially Christmas with the decorating and choosing and giving gifts.
Joan will be dearly missed, but she is at peace and once again reunited with her loving husband of 67 years.
Friends will be received at Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m. Services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Nichols, Scott Nichols, Kris Nichols, Brady Nichols, Wayne Magruder Jr., Chad Nichols, and Mike Fleming.
