John "Buck"'s Story

FAIRVIEW, Texas John "Buck" Raymond Robison, 95, of Fairview, formerly of Old Furnace Rd., Ridgeley, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at The Belmont at Twin Creek.
Born June 3, 1922, in Patterson Creek, he was the son of the late Solomon Michael Robison and Bertha Virginia (Kaylor) Robison.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Ann Aines, Silver Spring; sisters, Mary Louise Crossland, Westernport, Kathryn Sisk, Short Gap, Edna Sisk, Ridgeley, Agnes Holler, Patterson Creek, and half sister, Lilly Weese, Cumberland; brothers, Robert, Arthur, Paul, and Roy Robison, all of Cumberland, Carlos Robison, Ridgeley, and half brothers, Herman, Lawrence, James, and Bernard Robison.
Mr. Robison had attended Fort Ashby High School.
He had served his country during World War II in the 11th Armored Division.
Buck was retired from the B&O Railroad and Chessie System with 33 years of service; he had also been employed by the Celanese Corporation for 10 years, and the Cumberland Times and Cumberland Morning News Delivery.
Mr. Robison was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Patterson Creek.
Buck also belonged to the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way, Local 1028.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth (Cox) Robison, Fairview; his daughter, Patricia Darlene Robison-Crawford, and husband, Tom, Fairview; granddaughter, Michelle McLagan, New York; and his great-granddaughter, Abigail McLagan, Ontario, Canada. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Frank Aines, Silver Spring; sister-in-law, Inez Ridgely, Annapolis; a special niece, Betty Robison, Ridgeley; and many other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, from noon to 1 p.m.
The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Darrell Tichinel, officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
