John "Jack"'s Story
John "Jack" Suter Kegg, Jr., 67, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Dec. 25, 1950, in Cumberland, Mr. Kegg was the son of the late John Suter Kegg, Sr., and Helen Gertrude (Hartung) Kegg.
A graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1969, Jack retired from the Cumberland Times News as a writer and was proud of being a lifelong newspaper carrier. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church. Jack was an avid Allegany High School fan always working the events to help the school. Because of his love for cats, he was a volunteer at the Allegany County Animal Shelter. Jack loved music acquiring an enormous knowledge of it.
Jack is survived by his sister, Susan Farrell, Cumberland; his nephews, Andrew Farrell and wife, Sherry, and Tim Farrell; and his niece, Jennifer Farrell. He also leaves behind his great nephews and nieces, Harper, Teagan, Anthony, Parker, Rowen, and Eli; his special friends and neighbors, Mandy, Kenny, Brianna, and Braiden; and his cats, Bella, Steph, and Frisky.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
