John Dale Webb, 63, of Gastonia, N.C., formerly of Cumberland, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at his home.
Born April 29, 1954, in Cumberland, Mr. Webb was the son of the late Aubrey Vernon Webb and Shirley Lee (Tichnell) Webb.
John was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1972. After getting his nursing degree, he went on to get his nurse anesthetist license and then practiced a number of years before retiring. John was an avid Fort Hill football fan, and also he enjoyed watching the Maryland Terrapins football and basketball teams. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the banjo and guitar, attending Bluegrass festivals, and visiting with family.
John is survived by his daughter, the love and joy of his life, Natalie Webb, Gastonia; his brothers, Richard Webb and wife, Terry, and Larry Webb Sr. and wife, Patricia, all of Cumberland; and his sister, Catherine Gorsuch and husband, Mike, Fairplay. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Richard Webb Jr., Ashley Kimble and husband, Billy, Larry Webb Jr., Matthew Gorsuch and wife, Anna, and Lindsay Williams and husband, Kevin; and a special friend, Maggie Linka of North Carolina.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com), on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Yelovich officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
