CUMBERLAND - Joseph Scott Ansel, of Cumberland, age 44, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center
He was born on Jan. 12, 1973, in Fayetteville, N.C. Joseph was the son of Constantia Arlena Beeman-Ansel and the late Donald Lee Ansel.
Joseph was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1991. He was interested in art and drawing, and took online classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pa. He also worked in the building trades.
Joseph was baptized into the church on Winifred Road Church of Christ on Feb. 14, 2014.
He is survived by his mother, Connie Beeman-Ansel; his son, Alex Ansel; daughter, Nevaeh Ansel; siblings, Brian Ansel along with his wife, Hailey and son, Brody, Mike Ansel along with his wife, Shaun and children, Tayvn, Averi, and Landyn; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick H. Beeman and Mary Arlena Beeman, and Wayne and Georgia Ansel.
Joseph was extremely proud of his children and enjoyed the quality time he spent with his family. He also enjoyed reading the Bible. His favorite was the Book of John. He enjoyed discussing the scriptures with his family.
One thing he shared with his children was having a father-son cooking night, and a daughter-father cooking night. Many delicious meals were created.
Joseph died of a heart-attack after being diagnosed and treated for CAD the past three years. At his request, he was cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, by invitation only.
