Joseph Edwards Coleman, 40, of Phoenix, and formerly of Piedmont, W.Va., died on Jan. 16, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., on May 23, 1977. He is preceded in death by his sister.
Joseph spent his early years in Gary, Ind. He was adopted by Rev. Harry A. Coleman, they moved to Piedmont in 1994. Joseph is a graduate of Keyser High School and West Virginia University. He was employed by a ligation firm in the DC area, he later transferred to a sister firm in Phoenix, Airz.
Along with his father, the Reverend Harry A. Coleman, he is survived by two brothers, Alex (Monica) of Coppell, Texas, and Timothy (Jennifer) of Indianapolis. Ind. He is also survived by his niece, Erin of Coppell, Texas; his nephews, Evan of Atlanta, Ga., Bralin and Jayden, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Micah of Coppell, Texas; his uncles, Alvin (Redessa) of Prairie View, Texas, David Coleman (Vicki) of Piedmont, W.Va.; and a number of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends and neighbors at Trinity United Methodist Church, Jones Street, Piedmont, W.Va., on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. A service of worship will follow at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Howard/Lincoln Scholarship Fund - First United Bank, 45 Ashfield Street, Piedmont, WV 26750.
Boal Funeral Home, Westernport assisted the family with arrangements.
