Kenneth "Kenny"'s Story
Kenneth "Kenny" L. Leasure, 77, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born July 1, 1940, in Cumberland, Mr. Leasure was the son of the late Edgar Stanley Leasure Sr., and Julia Matilda (Krause) Leasure. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Stanley Leasure Jr., and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1958, Kenny was a United States Army Veteran and retired from B&O/CSX Railroad with 27 years of service. He was also a local photographer for 40 years. Kenny was a member of the Dapper Dan and Hot Stove Baseball. He was also a member of the Cumberland Rec League Baseball and Vice President of Hot Stove League. Kenny was also a member of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Louise (Knight) Leasure; his son, Ken Leasure and wife, Kim, Little Elm, Texas; and his daughter, Julie Anderson and husband, Sam, Newark, Del. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Anderson; his nieces and nephews, Lois Leasure, Randy Leasure, Steve Leasure, Patty Hensel, Debbie Engle, and Tina Sgroi.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 11a.m. at the Shrine SS. Peter and Paul.
Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
