Kenneth "Kenny"'s Story
CUMBERLAND - Kenneth "Kenny" Elroy Unger, 65, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 17, 1952, in Baltimore, Mr. Unger was the son of the late Vernon Unger and Wilma (Effland) Unger. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Dale, and Larry Unger; and a sister, Maxine McIntire.
A graduate of Hancock High School, class of 1970, Kenny was formerly employed as a car salesman at Kirk Ford for many years. He then graduated from Garrett College with a Degree in Massage Therapy. Kenny was co-owner/operator of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Center with his wife. He was a member of the Central Assembly of God Church. Kenny was an avid hunter and a huge Colts Fan.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debbie JoAnn Unger; his daughters, Nicole Unger, Hagerstown, and Wendy Pittman-Russ, LaVale; his son, Travis Unger, Cumberland; and his granddaughter and adopted daughter, Tianna Unger, at home. He also leaves behind his sisters, Debbie Keefer and husband, Terry, Hancock, and Carol Tischner and husband, David, Greencastle, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Markell, Xavier, Little Cory, Keandre, Tyson, Eden, and Liam.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Seaman and Pastor Martin Lease officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Tianna's Education Fund, c/o: Standard Bank, 200 North Mechanic St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
