Kimberly Meaghan "Kimi" Appel, 17, of Little Orleans, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Born, in Bethesda, on Feb. 16, 2000, she was the daughter of the late Beverly (Ginter) Appel and Craig L. Appel. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Brittany J. Appel.
Kimi was a junior at Fort Hill High School. She was a former member of the band's color guard. She had played the clarinet when she was in elementary and middle school. Kimi was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Little Orleans.
She was very artistic; she had the gift to draw. Most of all, she loved using her artistic gift to express herself creatively through makeup artistry and fashion. She enjoyed listening to music and she treasured her relationships with her friends.
In addition to her father, Kimi is survived by her grandfather, Harry "Ray" Ginter and his wife, Christine, of Cold Spring, Ky.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, on Monday, May 15, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Little Orleans, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
