Leon Duane Beitzel
Born July 27, 1948, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Roy and Edna (Maust) Beitzel. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Cleland Beitzel, and one sister, Hilda Beitzel.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen (Butler) Beitzel; son, Jeffrey (Twila) Beitzel, Grantsville; daughter, Tina (Randall) Yoder, Grantsville; two grandchildren, Lara and Joshua Beitzel; two great-grandchildren, Greggory and Carolyn; brother, Mayard Beitzel, Allensville, Pa.; two sisters, Leora Yaste, Accident, and Wanda (Paul) Yoder, Bittinger.
Leon served as chaplin for Bittinger Volunteer Fire Dept., where he was a life member of 31 years. Leon worked in the field of heavy equipment operation and retired from Beitzel Corp., where he worked for 28 years. He was also a member of Cherry Glade Mennonite Church, and his hobby was hunting.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Cherry Glade Mennonite Church, Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Maust officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in Cherry Glade Cemetery.
