Leslie Anne McIntyre of Wilmington, formerly of Cumberland, peacefully passed away on her 87th birthday on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, in Wilmington.
Anne grew up in Cumberland with her sister, Nancy, and was raised by her parents, Bud and Ruth Randall. She met her husband Don in Cumberland, and together they raised their four children, Karyn Zeinkiewicz , Randy McIntyre, Jimmy McIntyre and Debbie Dutcher. TuTu (her given grandmother name) is survived by all of her children, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Don, with Anne's support, managed and served the community with McIntyre's Market on Cumberland Street for many decades. The grocery store was a staple and piece of history with the city. In 1983, Anne graduated from Allegany College with a nursing degree. Don and Anne moved to Palm Harbor, Florida, and lived life to its fullest for 20 years in the Sunshine State. Anne was a school nurse in the county school system. In 2005, Don and Anne moved to Wilmington.
Anne loved life. She was a fantastic and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed animals, the beach and the outdoors.
She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church.
A service will be held on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. The family welcomes all family and friends to celebrate Anne's life.
