Louis "Les"'s Story
Louis "Les" Edward Schadt, Jr, 58, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 in Marquand, Mo., surrounded by his sister and her family. He had fought a courageous fight against Pancreatic Cancer over the past 10 months.
Born in Cumberland, on March 17, 1959, Les was the son of the late Louis "Sonny" E. Schadt, Sr. and Lois J. Schadt.
Besides his Mother, Les leaves behind his daughter, Amy Lynn Schadt; and sons, Louis "Louie" Schadt, III and wife, Stephanie, and Cameron "Hunter" Schadt; as well as a grandson, Bryce Schadt; and two granddaughters, Myla Schadt and Sunni Schadt, all of Cumberland. Surviving also are his three sisters, Linda Oppedal and husband, Dennis, Ames, IA. Karen Whitener and husband, and Les's friend and confidant, Keith, Marquand, Mo., and Kimberly Howard, Winchester, Va., as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who loved to be around him. Les also leaves behind many close friends.
Les graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1977.
Les enjoyed hunting, shooting skillpool and spending time with his family and friends.
Les had made a request that he be cremated. There will be no service at this time but a Life Celebration will be planned by the family at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Zaman and the staff of Schwab Family Cancer Center for everything they have done and the care and affection they gave Les. Also, Dr. Dickey and Dr. Haman of the SE Cancer Center in Cape Girardo, Mo., for their care during the past month.
